CLUB SERVICES

C-Eng President's Meeting (Clubs' Information & Training Session):

This year, a representative from your student group (if the President cannot make it, you can of course send a proxy to fill-in!) will be required  to attend our Fall meeting & info night. This is the primary information and meeting session during which I will explain all of the services that CSES has to offer to you, and we can start a forum to keep in touch throughout the year and share best practices-- the 'President's Club' served to unite C-Eng's groups!

$50 of Free Club-Use Printing:

Print Card: Each student group will receive up to $50 of free printing for club-use from the CSES office! Our printing costs are the cheapest on campus, and we want to help you advertise your events and services to your members and ours, on our dime!  We can even do 11 x 17s! And colour! Wahoo!

Graphic Design Services:

Get our graphic designers to create posters, Facebook banners, Iron Times & Leos' TV ads for your events/services

"Effective Highlighting":

Each student group will have the opportunity to have their student group's activities highlighted at least once throughout the school year. THIS INCLUDES: a "pinned" Facebook post on the CSES Facebook page, an Iron Times "feature" article, and a featured section in the CSES e-Newsletter.

Ad Promotion:

We will share your social media posts as appropriate, include your ads in our dedicated "C-Eng Student Groups" eNewsletter Section, publish your ads in the Iron Times, and ensure you have dedicated space on the CSES bulletin-boards and are in the Leo's / Ad TVs' ad streams. Also-- ads can be placed in The Iron Times!

Student Group Funding (SGF):

CSES will be distributing $32,000 (woah!) this year for student group projects over the course of Fall and Winter. CSES affiliated groups ONLY will be eligible to apply. More information will be sent out as the dates approach. For your information, this year's SGF Director is Kevin Herger.

Miscellaneous Conference Fund:

We have a new Conference Fund for non-traditionally attended conferences! If you have one that could benefit your members, our VP External would be thrilled to help facilitate CSES support through it.

Student Group Meeting Space:

The newly-renovated CSES office will feature a small Conference Room (up to 8 people), featuring a projector & whiteboard that will be accessible to CSES and its affiliated student groups. Similar to the SGRC, however this room will only be available during regular business hours, and will be bookable for your small-meetings use. Check out the Bookable Rooms page to book.

Student Group Resource Centre (SGRC)

As alluded to above, the Student Group Resource Centre-- which is our fifth floor Mackenzie boardroom-- will also still be available for your booking needs on our website. This service continues to be available.  Check out the Bookable Rooms page to book.

Web Server Space:

We are offering registered Student Groups designated space on CSES' new server! So, whether you have an existing website or a new one, you'll have a reliable server to host it on, courtesy of CSES! We are actively working on transferring old / creating new domains on the new server. Interested in space? [e: technical@cses.carleton.ca]

Advanced Equipment Loan Program (ELP):

We are introducing a new student-group priority branch of the ELP this year! We are going to be adding new items for student group use, such as cameras and a PA system! This is in addition to our regularly-accessible existing ELP for members! Check out the ELP page to book.

C-Eng Centroid: There is still some office and storage locker space to be assigned and shared in the new C-Eng Centroid! CSES will keep you involved in the project if you desire, and will be assisting the Faculty in the maintaining of the project. We are actively working with the Faculty, who ultimately assigns & controls space.

First Year Conference (FYC) [Student Group Fair]:

First Year Conference (FYC): Each registered student group will have the opportunity to participate in CSES' Student Group Fair/First Year Conference taking place in early September. This event will showcase all the engineering clubs and societies and focus on encouraging first years to get involved!
